Not an official Thai public holiday, but much of Thailand's business community is Thai-Chinese. Expect significant commercial closures across retail, construction, and wholesale for 3–5 days around 15–20 February. Yaowarat (Chinatown) Bangkok hosts the most vibrant public pedestrian celebrations.
Public holidays connected to the Royal Family are observed with national solemnity. Expect royal portraits illuminated on government buildings and major landmarks. On King's Birthday (July 28) and Queen Mother's Birthday (August 12), public spaces are decorated and the national anthem may play at additional times.
